Subaru Drivers Take the Win with Ease at the 2018 New England Forest Rally

Known for its taxing turns and straightaways, the New England Forest Rally is no simple feat. Regardless, Subaru Rally Team USA drivers David Higgins and Craig Drew led the pack from takeoff, firming up their own reputation as well as that of their 2018 Subaru WRX STI rally car.

The Elements of the Race

The New England Forest Rally, part four of the seven-round American Rally Association National Championship, took place over the course of two days along notoriously rough terrain in Maine and New Hampshire. Despite the difficult landscape, the 2018 Subaru WRX STI drove without complication the whole way through, something that can't be said for the brand's closest rivals.

Almost immediately, Higgins achieved a 50-second lead. Since then, he maintained his speed without taking severe risks, allowing himself to remain comfortable throughout the course. The second-place position was also assumed by a WRX STI, giving this model—which is revered by the folks at Baierl Subaru—a true leg up in the rally-car realm.

The Subaru WRX is a hot, highway-ready hatchback that can be found right here at our Pittsburgh-based dealership. Our sales team can't wait to show you the nuances of a car that takes the win through every undulation of the journey.
