The New Subaru Trailseeker EV is Coming to Pittsburgh, PA
The Subaru lineup is about to grow in an exciting direction. Following the success of its first fully electric model, the Solterra, Subaru has announced its next step in battery power with the all-new Subaru Trailseeker. First unveiled at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, the Trailseeker is a larger midsize EV that blends the brand's signature ruggedness with advanced technology, offering roomier accommodations and increased capability for families and adventurers across Pennsylvania.
Performance
The Subaru Trailseeker utilizes a dual-motor electric powertrain with 375 horsepower, enabling a swift zero-to-60 mph sprint in a manufacturer-estimated 4.5 second. The standard Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system is tuned for EV responsiveness and provides confident traction in various conditions. It also pairs with dual-function X-MODE® for enhanced stability on loose or uneven terrain.
Capability remains central to the Subaru DNA, and the Trailseeker proudly supports both daily driving and recreational adventures. With an available max towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds, you can bring along small campers, boats, or gear trailers for outdoor excursions while still enjoying the efficiency of an all-electric SUV.
EV Charging & Range
Whether you're planning a day trip to the Laurel Highlands or a weekend getaway to Lake Erie, the Trailseeker is designed for convenience on the go. The Trailseeker's 75-kWh battery delivers a manufacturer-estimated 260 miles of range per charge, giving you the freedom to explore more of Pennsylvania without constant stops. The Trailseeker can charge at a rate of up to 150 kW. Additionally, thanks to the North American Charging System (NACS) port, you'll have access to a wide network of DC fast-charging stations, including Tesla Superchargers.
Interior Comfort and Cargo Space
Inside, the Trailseeker emphasizes passenger comfort and flexible storage. It's inspired by the Solterra but more spacious, providing extra headroom, legroom, and cargo capacity for everyday errands or family road trips. While official cargo volume figures aren't yet published, Subaru has confirmed it surpasses the Solterra, giving you more room for groceries, luggage, or sporting equipment.
The Trailseeker is nicely equipped with many comforts and conveniences, including standard features like heated front seats, StarTex® water-repellent upholstery, a power driver's seat, a power liftgate, and roof rails for extra utility. Available upgrades can enhance your experience even further, including:
